2 Pick the rule

Tom clicks the row No contact 1. The edit card opens: a Site stalls after this many days without contact, now 14 days; on the right, the Change history of this rule from the audit log.

3 Enter the new value and the date

Tom types 10 in New value 1 and sets Effective from to Tue 10 Nov 2026 with the date picker 2. Under the field: Whole days, 5 to 30; under the date: closed months and locked weeks do not change.

4 System: the impact preview

Before anything is saved, the system counts the Sites whose badge would change: 3 would show stalled against 1 today, the new ones named with their days without contact. Mill Pond is On Hold · Parked and left out; Rhys Calloway would get one summary alert.

5 Confirm and save

Tom clicks Confirm and save 1. The change goes to the audit log with its old and new values: a toast says it applies from Tue 10 Nov 2026, the row reads 10 days with the new date, and the history gains 14 → 10 days with a Restore button.

6 System: apply from then on

On Tue 10 Nov 2026 the stall evaluation runs with 10 days. Each new firing marks the Site with a stalled badge naming the rule and writes a system activity entry carrying the setting change’s audit entry, as on Heron Fields. Saved records keep their grade; Deal Health recomputes on live Sites.

7 System: the alerts

The owner of each newly stalled Site gets one stall alert: here the letter to Dana Whitfield for Heron Fields. Rhys Calloway gets one summary for the whole change in the notification centre, “A threshold change made 2 Sites stall”, linking to the list of Sites, instead of one alert per Site.

8 Why did my Site stall?

9 The Monday view notes it

At the Monday Morning Meeting of Mon 16 Nov 2026 Rhys Calloway opens the board 1: a note reads “Thresholds changed this week: No contact 14 → 10”, for the change made in the past week. On the Executive dashboard 2 the stalled list names the rule and the threshold for each Site.

10 Closed months stay as they were

Rhys Calloway opens October 2026 1 on the Executive dashboard: its figures and Deal Health stand as snapshotted at the close. Rhys Calloway then opens the locked week of the South & West review 2: unchanged and Locked; a correction would only be an adjustment beside the frozen value.

11 Restore

On Mon 16 Nov 2026 Tom returns to Settings › Rules and clicks Restore 14 1 in the Change history. The impact preview runs again (1 Site would clear: Orchard Lane (12 days)); Tom clicks Confirm and save 2. A new entry 10 → 14 days by Tom stands on top and the earlier entries stay: restoring is a new, audited change.

12 An impact preview with many Sites

Alternative: Tom types 5 instead 1. The preview says “Most open Sites would show stalled”, folds the full list under Show all and keeps the one-summary-alert line. Tom clicks Cancel 2 and nothing is saved.

13 A value refused

Alternative: Tom types 3 1. The field is in error with the rule named, whole days from 5 to 30; 10.5 or 0, or an amber set after its red, are refused the same way. Confirm and save stays disabled.

14 An empty threshold

Alternative: Tom clears the value 1. Before the save Tom reads “This rule will not fire while the threshold is empty”; after Confirm and save 2 No contact reads Off in All stall rules and on the MD exceptions view.

15 No Site changes

Alternative: Tom types 13 1 and the preview counts no Site: “No Site’s badge would change”. Confirm and save 2 goes ahead with no summary alert.

16 The recompute fails

Alternative: the recompute fails. Settings › Rules shows the error “The change could not be applied; 14 days stays in force” with the failure shown to Tom; Tom’s entry of 10 days from Tue 10 Nov 2026 is kept in the form.

17 Restore refused

Alternative: Tom clicks Restore 35 1 on the entry of Mon 3 Aug 2026, when the range was 5 to 40; the permitted range is now 5 to 30. The restore is refused with that reason, and nothing changes.

18 A working-day change moves a clock

Alternative: Tom clicks Open the working-day calendar 1 and adds a company closure 2. The same kind of preview lists the clocks whose due dates move before Tom saves.
